We are operators who invest. We've built and scaled companies from scratch, and we bring that experience directly into the work — from go-to-market strategy and key hires to customer introductions and fundraising. We don't just write checks. We help founders move faster through the hardest phase of building a company.
We're looking for the top 1% of founders: people with deep domain expertise, the capacity to become world-class operators, and the ambition to build category-defining companies in markets that matter.
ABOUT US
Capital F is founded by GPs Dawn Dobras and Margaret Coblentz, two digital operators with experience as founders, CEOs and investors.
Margaret Coblentz
Margaret is Co-Founder and General Partner of Capital F, a pre-seed and seed fund investing in AI-enabled platforms, women's health, and digital commerce. She is known for writing the first check and staying in the trenches — from the first hire to the first pivot and brings something most VCs can't claim: she's built and scaled the businesses she now backs.
As an operator, Margaret grew the e-commerce division of a major retailer from $20M to nearly $100M in revenue, founded and bootstrapped her own luxury DTC brand — Frances Austen — through a successful acquisition.
A Stanford GSB, and UCLA alumna and founding member of The Council Angels, she believes the best investments sit at the intersection of deep human insight and great technology. She lives in San Francisco with her husband and three children, and is hooked on continually learning new skills — currently: tennis and speaking French.
Dawn Dobras
Dawn is an operator turned investor. A fierce believer in changing who and what gets funded, Dawn co-founded Capital F VC, which invests in the $15 Trillion Female economy in areas of health, AI and digital commerce. She is former CEO, board member, and unapologetic operator who’s spent 30+ years scaling brands that punch above their weight. Most recently, she led Credo Beauty—named Fast Company’s “World’s Most Innovative Beauty Company”.
She is Entrepreneur-in-Residence at Harvard Business School, where she received her MBA, and an active angel investor. Based in Mill Valley, CA with her husband and three surfing boys, Dawn’s a third-generation entrepreneur and competitive master rower who loves to win.
